The Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers took it outside to play in the 2018 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Citi Field on Monday. Sabres forward Jason Pominville, who played for Buffalo in the first Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2008, agreed to be a guest blogger for Vince Wilfork Jersey Womens to write about his Winter Classic experience.

Here is Pominville's final entry, after Buffalo lost 3-2 in overtime:

NEW YORK -- It's amazing how much bigger the event known as the Winter Classic has become in 10 years.

Back on Jan. 1, 2008, I was fortunate enough to have taken part in the first such event. It was an amazing experience, one that I'll never forget. The snow. The fans. The spectacle. It all made it special.

The only disappointing aspect to that day: We lost 2-1 in a shootout to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sidney Crosby beat us in a shootout.

I guess the one thing that our 2018 Winter Tanner Kero Jersey Womens Classic experience at Citi Field has in common with this first one is ; the result.

This time, we lost 3-2 in overtime.

It's tough when you lose in these events. These are games where the hype around them is so high, they take a lot of energy out ; of you.

But I'm proud of the guys. We fought back. We were down 2-0 less than nine minutes into the game. It's tough when you get behind the eight ball like that.

But we weren't going to allow ourselves to wilt under the pressure. We weren't going to let ourselves down. We weren't going to let our families down. We weren't going to let our organization down. And we weren't going to let our loyal fans down.

We play better Bruce Ellington Jersey when we play on our toes. We definitely have to do that more. The Rangers got on us pretty good out of ; the gates. I'm just glad that we got back to our game plan and stuck with it. I actually think we started controlling the game at times after we fell behind by two goals. We didn't panic. And by the time the ; horn went to end regulation, we'd clawed our way back to Cole Cassels Youth Jersey tie the game.

As for the differences between that snowy day at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the Penguins and this wonderful Authentic Olivier Vernon Jersey experience against the Rangers, there are a few.
